Projects & Events 2024

Ideas Lab 2024 January-March
An invitation to come in for a chat about your practice interests, arts & culture generally, and to share your ideas with us for hosting external micro-residencies and interventions (such as Mammary Mountain) - and a chance for us to research around our forthcoming programme ideas with you.

Not Just Window Dressing January
A display of works viewable through the shop windows, which were made by the five artists in residence during our summer programme, with reflections on the theme, the accompanying events, and engagement with the High Street.

The Gift That Keeps On Giving 22nd January-23rd February
An exhibition of the things given to HARI which help us to support artists' activity and to share their work through events.
This is the start of a longer enquiry by HARI into Philanthropy for a commission by Hull City Council Library Service about James Reckitt.

Mammary Mountain 27th February-2nd March
An interactive installation with VR headset and haptic garment, inviting visitors to engage with the breast cancer journey.
Due to losing our space, we are negotiating an alternative venue for artists Camille Baker, Tara Baoth Mooney, and Maf’j Alvarez.

HARI @ 47 May 2021-February 2024
As of 22nd February 2024, HARI is no longer based at 47 King Edward Street in a Prospect Shopping Centre property.
This highlights the precarity which artists and DIY projects face. Fortunately, we have found another space, and look forward to sharing details soon.

Counter Points 11th April-28th May 2024
An exhibition of works by Hull-based artist Paul G. Hughes (1966-2023) held in The University of Hull Art Gallery, in Brynmor Jones Library. Accompanied by a programme of talks, discussion, workshop activity, walks and performances prompted by the show.

RE-VIEW Residencies July-October 2024, Exhibition 25/10/24-25/01/25
25x25hr Residencies to launch occupation of our new space at 25 Francis Street, as an opportunity to find out how artists might work there, and how the space worked to host exhibitions, events and audiences.
