Exhibition Showcasing Textiles as Artform

A varied exhibition of works by members of Atelier 8., who are also based in the growing arts and culture hub at 25 Francis Street!
The exhibition showcases work by 11 of the studio holders and fellows. With pieces ranging from toiles to evening bags, Nigerian dresses to kimonos, lace making to felt, and inspiration derived from sources as diverse as Marie Antoinette, the NHS, and the peeling paint in HARI’s space, it is a delight to showcase the work created in the enriching atmosphere of the Atelier 8. studio.
Open Thursday-Monday 16th-31st May, 12-6pm.
Artist Talks Saturday 30th May, 1-4pm.

7.30pm dance performance by Casey Simmons, accompanied by violinist Jill Fisher, in response to Milliner Kerry Winter’s ‘The Rise and Fall of Marie Antoinette’.
​​9pm ‘Fragments’ performance in response to the building, with movement by Michelle Dee and sound by Jay Moy produced as a collaboration with Zac Girdlestone who created the textile pieces.
