A thought provoking evening brought to you by Close and Remote's Simon Poulter, and Roney FM.

For one night only, part of HARI's atmospheric DIY arts space will be taken over by a phygital performance work 'designed for the curious, the sceptical, and the aesthetically restless'.

This work will follow the first viewing in Hull of the acclaimed 2025 film that employed Instagram as a methodological tool to find collaborators, generate research and disseminate content.

Not to be missed!

Join Close and Remote for the premier Hull screening of We Are Making A Film About Mark Fisher — a 65-minute cinematic experiment exploring the continuing relevance of the late theorist’s ideas on capitalism, culture, and the future.

Blending documentary, performance, and hauntological fiction, the film follows Parkins — a time-slipped character — through ghostly landscapes and digital spaces, tracing Fisher’s thought from the 1990s to our algorithmic present.

Created collaboratively by over 70 artists through Instagram @markfisherfilm the film embodies Fisher’s call for collective imagination beyond capitalist realism.

Developed by a collective of UK-based artists and led by artist and creative producer Roney FM, and presented as a hybrid live-online performance and digital installation, Hotel Zimmer explores how artificial intelligence is impacting society.

AI slop infiltrates the whole of the great country of Gross Britannia.  In Brixton, a riot breaks out as AI Slopists, a new white supremicist brotherhood, attempt to gain more reach from Slopification Powder.  Rumours circulate that it does get the dishes clean but it has huge health hazards.  Zombie Slopists are polluting the environment with offers to live to 200 years - ‘minimum’.  Meanwhile, at Hotel Zimmer, Vader and his brother Heinrich argue over early adoption of Slop or to play the waiting game. Heinrich wants to go full ‘slop’ but his much cannier brother can see another path.  Follow the whole ‘organic’ and ‘vitamin ultra life’ story @hotelzimmer2025 and then attend the live show in HARI.

Hotel Zimmer merges digital art and physical performance.  It spans live venues, as well as an interactive web portal where guests can book, enter rooms and experience online streamed artwork.  Guests encounter a broad range of media including literature, music, 3D character animations and live performance art, all created in response to AI's cultural, ethical and emotional consequences.
